What is Sky+

With Sky+, you never have to choose between two shows that are on at the same time, and if you're going out you won't miss your favourite TV.  Sky+ gives you the option to pause, rewind and record live TV, so you are in control of what you watch.  If you want to go back and watch your favourite bit again, or you need to pause and head for the kitchen, then Sky+ lets you take charge of your TV.

All recordings are stored in the set-top box and accessed through Sky Planner, ready for when you're ready to watch.  You can also record two programmes at the same time whilst watching something you recorded earlier.  Sky+ gives you complete freedom, and ensures that you don’t have to miss out on your favourite TV.

Sky+HD

With Sky+HD you can pause, rewind and record live TV, and watch in glorious high definition, with crisp, defined picture and sound.  There are free-to-air high definition broadcasts, such as BBC One HD and Channel 4, as well as premium channel packs in HD, like Sky Sports and Sky Movies.

To get HD, you need the HD pack added to your subscription, and then you will get every HD channel in line with your monthly viewing pack.  You need an HD TV to watch in high definition, and your Sky+HD box is built ready for high definition.

You can add a Sky HD box for Sky Multiroom; this box has less features than Sky+, but is HD-ready so you can enjoy high definition in a second room in your home.

Sky+ Box

The Sky+ box enables you to have more control over the TV you watch, by letting you pause, rewind or record live channels.  With the series link function you can set a whole series of episodes from one show to automatically record, and the box has an extensive memory so you can keep multiple recordings to watch in the future.

The box also has a 7 day Electronic Programme Guide, so you can check ahead for what’s on.  The Sky+HD box is ready for high definition, so when you have the HD Pack and an HD-ready TV you can watch movies, sport and TV in line with your subscription, in this stunning, crisp visual format.

The Sky+HD 1TB box is the next generation set-top device from Sky, designed to give you more space to record HD movies.  Recordings in high definition take up more memory, but the 1TB can store up to 240 hours of HD.

Sky Planner

Keeping all your Sky+ recordings and your planned programmes organised in one place makes everything much easier, and the Sky Planner is user-friendly, clear and reliable.  Your recordings are listed together in the Planner, and you can choose different ways to sort them.  At the end of your recordings list comes anything else that you have set to a reminder or are planning to record in the future.

Your free space indicator on the screen lets you know how much set-top box memory is left for recordings, and you can simply delete anything you no longer want stored.  Anything you have set as a series link, which is a planned recording of every episode of a TV series, will be shown on the Sky Planner too.

Sky+ Deals

Sky often promotes deals for new and existing customers, so you can find offers for Sky+ with broadband and calls, or other services like Sky Multiroom or Sky HD.  You can compare Sky deals to find out which promotions are on at the moment, and comparison tools make it easier to browse through results.

The deals often change in order to keep them fresh and interesting, and they can include incentives like money off vouchers at high street shops.  When you find a Sky deal, you can follow the link and order the digital TV package you like.
